About | Contact | More Information

When Laura was still an impressionable child she remembers watching the black and white movie: Cheaper by the Dozen. (A movie based on a true story of a family with twelve kids.) She was entranced with the parents innovative ways to raise and teach their children new languages, new skills and self-reliance by establishing routines and playing games.

Laura fell in-love with the idea of being apart of a fun large family and begged her parents for more siblings. ( Thinking the phrase "The more the merrier" was true and that having more siblings would make their family more fun.) When her parents stubbornly refused to supply the additional siblings she decided she would be this type of parent when she had her own family.

With a degree from Brigham Young University in Early Childhood Education, Laura enjoys hands-on learning. Not only has she taught in her home, but served at church, taught preschool and worked as a Sign Language interpreter for 15 years. Currently, Laura stays home with her four children and hosts a web site Bookclub4boys.com. (A byproduct of hosting book clubs for her sons. She shares her free action-oriented book club outlines and tips on how to host a book club for boys.) She loves to find fun ways to motivate her small family into doing things that they should do. Her ideas have been published in Family Fun Magazine and The Friend.

She started this site as a way to help other parents find fun in family learning. (Without having twelve kids.)
